Right now I'll just point out that there is a certain
amount of free-floating anger around here. And some
of the regulars are trying their best to keep things
cool.
But all in all the whole to-do with "Curious Person"
or whatever her name is has left me quite dispirited.
I'll simply say that if one posts a somewhat detailed
personal situation here, you are going to get comments
on it. And I guarantee they will not all agree, nor
necessarily be what you want to hear. But it is worth
listening in any event.
A last word to Sarah. I've not been able to say too
much, mostly because of absence. But I know that most
all of us are with you and hope that the current resolution
to your situation holds and that great happiness prevails.
And now back to reading posts...

Cheers, Norton Dear.
I've given up hoping for anything to stay the same for more than a
couple of days at a time. I'm hanging on to my hat and enjoying the
ride, as well as weathering the storms. There's plenty of happiness,
and some anxiety, and some tears... I think it's called Life ;)
And Life is certainly *interesting* at the moment.
There's some Stuff(tm) going on, but I reckon this time I will keep it
under my hat until/unless anything actually HAPPENS. Keeping on
repeating the "He's gonna do someone else! I R Scared! Oh, he's not
after all!" story over and over again just makes me feel dumb.
Unless I get the OMG I HAVE TO TEL SOMEONE ABOUT THIS urge and find it
overpowering, anyway.
*hugs*

This is SSG. You're Norton here. Aren't you?
But with curlies :-)

Back in the 60s, "Free-floating anxiety" was a typical buzzword in
psychological circles.
I don't see any anger, but I do see a lot of impatience with one
particular poster whose attitude toward sexuality and relationships
makes me wonder why she picked this group.

No pressure, but if you ever just need to vent to someone, my email is
open.

I think that particular poster's attitude is being attributed toward
anger. I can't say I entirely disagree.

I very much appreciate that offer, Serene. Thank you.

I have to agree there. I know I'm not angry. A bit annoyed, maybe.
Off the top of my head, I'm wondering whether Curiosperson has
participated in any threads other than her own (yes, I'm being lazy
and not checking). Maybe she didn't lurk around here before she posted
and didn't really get a good idea of what the group is about.
ObSex: Regarding my recent visit with M. After 21 (wonderful) years
with tthe same person, the first time with a new partner is a little
awkward.

Oh yes. As someone once said, if we didn't have sorrow, we'd
never know about happiness.

There's a lot of conflicting emotion going on there for both
of you. And I in no way doubt your feelings for each other.
It is that desire to try the unknown that both draws and scares
the stuffing out of folks.

Well, if you do, we will be here to listen.

Mmmmm. That was nice. Have a *hug* back.

Nope, I'm Norton, here and elsewhere. I don't know who
Desideria is.

Ok. I'm dumb. Could someone enlighten me about "curlies"?

Hey, I'm a regular 60s guy.... ;-)

Ok, but I'd read 120 posts one after another and a lot of that
impatience seemed to boil over here and there. Not in your
posts, but still...

Yeah. After I grew up a bit I came to understand that a
long term relationship has lots of advantages which usually
more make up for that "new partner" energy and the awkwardness
that comes with it.
The long term partner knows where all the good spots are and
when to use them.

Curlies are the curly brackets {} which are used on ASSD to filter out
the spam. So relevant on-topic posts usually have {ASSD} in the
subject line. Desi got confused as to which group she was in...
sue
She's Denny's sweetie. I think she's only posted here a coupla times.

Desideria is my sweetie!!!

Well, that's because it's a very apt description!

Thanks. Sounds like a good idea. I can think of a number
of other newsgroups that could use that.

And thanks for that info too. I trust she knows that she's
welcome here anytime.

Not always. Norton is occasionally someone else.
On the internet nobody knows you are a group of
aliens from Xordax.

WARNING! OFF CHARTER COMMENTS BELOW!
Well, better to spend the time here than to spend it jumping
