her efforts are staggering so far. The one place she's running
into a dead end is in finding exactly where my father's side of
the family (EARP) is related to Nicholas Porter Earp, the father
of Wyatt Berry Stapp Earp, Virgil, Morgan, James, Warren, and
their 1/2 brother Newton Earp.
My grandfather, Fogle Francy EARP, once told me his great-grandfather
and Nicholas Porter Earp's father were brothers, or something
like that. I didn't pay much attention at the time, and my
grandfather died around 1978.
My grandfather was from Newsom(e) NC, and moved to Fairmont, WV
after his marriage. We have considerably more info on this
branch, so if anybody is researching the EARP tree, I'd like to
put you in touch with my mother.
She's also working on the BAKER, WORKMAN, STOUT, and BURNETT
families.

Arizona and the West. Virgil W. Earp (1843-1906) in 1886
describes early experiences in Colton, California, and
Wichita, Kansas; emigration to Arizona 1879; career as deputy
U.S. marshal in Tombstone; his return to Colton, 1884; and his
election as city marshal. (3 leaves) Wyatt Berry Stapp Earp
(1848-1929) in 1888 relates his birth in Illinois, emigration
to California, 1864, and services as peace officer and special
officer for Wells Fargo (1 leaf).
