I am writing a thesis on German who settled in Ireland in 1709. Some of these l
ater emigrated mainly to England, north America and Australia. If anyone knows
anything about these immigrants I would like to hear from them. I know that stu
dies have been done on those who settled later in Ontario and also on some who
were United Empire Loyalists.
I have a good deal of information on some of the families in Ireland from land
records, parish records, government records, folklore etc.
I have given only some variations of each name.

I'm looking for someone who might have information on the HATFIELD
family.
The 1850 in Knox county, Missouri, Elizabeth Jane HATFIELD married
Hedgman ROOKWOOD. She was born in 1827 Indiana. Her parents, Benjamin
F. HATFIELD (b. 1791 Penn) and Mary also lived in Knox county with 6 children
all born in Indiana except one 7 year old born in MO. The 1820, 30 and 40
census has Benjamin listed in Franklin county, ID. There is also a John
HATFIELD and wife in the same county who I suspect is Ben's parents.
Interesting note: I found a picture in my grandmothers scrap book of
a old woman, and on the back was written,
E.J. ROOKWOOD
May 13, 1916
Jerico Springs, MO
So she was 89+ years old before she died! I don't know exactly what year
she died yet, but she wasn't in the 1920 census.
At this point I haven't researched anything in Penn. and Indiana and
would appreciate any help or suggestions.
