Hi,
Noticed your rare Surname DOWELL, My mother was a DOWELL and I
am trying to trace back the line. My line ends in the Mid 1800's
with Simeon DOWELL in Brodhead, Kentucky. I would be interested in
your line and if the DOWELL name was modified (i.e. McDOWELL)

Thanks, Dan

After going through my net news, I see there are a few of you out there with
the DOWELL surname. My GGGrandfather's name is Simeon Augustus DOWELL, born
in 1852 in Covington, Fountain Co., Indiana. I am trying to find
information about his parents George DOWELL and Elizabeth CROLY (CROLEY). I
am fairly sure he was born in Kentucky. E-mail me at the address below if
you have any information.
Thanks!
