I recently turned my attention to two family surnames which I hadn't
researched. They were ROOF and RUPE. I had read messages before about
the Yates Publishing Company and their family group sheet exchange. They
also advertise alot in various genealogical publications. Since both
surnames were not common names I decided to give the company a try to
see what product they offered. For $10 they offered to send to you copies
of all sheets they have on file (up to 40 copies) for each name along with
variations of that name. If they are not able to provide at least 20 sheets
for your surname their ad read "credit will be given on your next order."
Their paperwork advises that "Any mailing may be returned for a refund if
you are not satisfied." I am providing this information so anyone thinking
of using this service may be knowledgeable of my results, however every
surname would be different.
A request for family group sheets on file for the name ROOF produced sheets
for the following families:

Now I know the value of examining variations of the spelling of the name
you are researching but the vast majority of these names I feel will be of
