I am saddened by the Chinese Government sentencing Liu Xiaobo, a well-known
Chinese writer, to an 11-year jail term. By sentencing Liu Xiaobo and others
like him, who use freedom of expression to publicly articulate their opinions,
the Chinese authorities have not only violated the binding principles of the
Universal Declaration of Human Rights but also the freedom of expression
mentioned in the Constitution of the People's Republic of China. I urge the
Chinese Government to release, as soon as possible, Liu Xiaobo and other
political prisoners who were jailed for exercising their freedom of
expression. I offer my regards and prayers to Mr. Liu Xiaobo, his wife and
other family members.

I agree that the penalty is ridiculously heavy or it is not necessary
at all. But i do think
that under certain circumstances and at certain times the majority is
unable to govern
itself.
We have a bunch of liberal arts students here from the US. While they
are unable to tell
the difference between a supply and demand curve, they are trying to
tell the world what to do!
They teach 'oral' English in China.

Fascism does not distinct from communism, you could say that Fascism is
extreme right wing and Communism is extreme left wing, but because both are so
extreme they meet each other completely in inhumanity, lack of compassion,

why don't they start with making peace???
Instead of continuing their harassment of minority identity, culture, religion

The poll was reported in Chinese by Taiwan's newspapers. But if you
check Taipei Times, an English newspaper in Taiwan, you may be able to
find this poll.
Vast majority of Taiwanese prefer status quo, i.e., no unification, no
Taiwan Independence, which is nothing new, it has been like this for
years. Even ROC (Taiwan) President, Ma Ying-jeou said he does not
expect Chinese unification in his lifetime.

(1) Wheras fascism advocates a one party state but a governmen that
used one-party state is not necessarily fascist.
(2) One party state does not necessarily mean the suppression of
speech
freedom. HK used to be a one-party/non-democratic state but there was
a lot
of freedom of the press.
(3) political dissidents are not necessarily tolerated in one-party
states only.
Without using the unsophisticated models, I would say it was a message
of
