Considering The Power of Bishops (i.e. U.S.A. Ayatollahs)

Considering the power of Bishops (i.e. U.S.A. Ayatollahs), I wonder
how much influence they have over our Supreme Court (5 Catholics) and
the rest of the judges who administer the laws??? How many of them
have been asked not to participate in communion or been threatened
with ex-communication if they endorse the will of those who seek, and
believe in, the freedom of choice???

It's so sad to see the conflicts between religion and politics. When
one complains there are attempts to brand the objectors as Anti-
Catholic or Anti-Semitic when really there is no legitimate basis for
doing so. Freedom of Religion and Freedom From Religion are among
the rights of those who are free. When religion comes to govern the
politics of this once greater nation, we are in serious trouble.

Tell your Bishops to butt out!!! Religion 'n' Politics just don't
mix!!! Leave to Caesar what is Caesar's. Practice what you preach
but leave the rest of us out of it. If your religion doesn't believe
in abortion, admonish your followers! You are entitled to your
beliefs. Just don't seek to IMPOSE them on the rest of us. STOP
TELLING US HOW TO VOTE!!! MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS OR GIVE UP YOUR
STATUS AS TAX FREE ENTITIES. Look at the world wide devastation
brought about by your endorsement of the immorality of prior
administrations. Look at the devastation you bring about by preaching
that the life of a newborn/unborn is to be spared even at the expense
of the loss of the mother's life. How many orphans have you created
by such a mandate???

The cost of having an abortion generally is minimal. Under the Hyde
Amendment, there are circumstances which allow for the use of Federal
funds in the performance of an abortion. As for the government's tax
deductions for medical expenses, it is highly unlikely that the
government would ever be using government funds since everyone is
subject to spending 7.5% before it becomes possible to use it as a tax
deduction. If one has an income of $100,000 (for instance) the first
$7500 would not be deductible. Even then, depending on other
deductions, there could be no tax benefit. The whole argument about
funding is specious, exaggerated, and an attempt to overthrow Roe vs
Wade. The Roe Court deemed abortion a fundamental right under the
United States Constitution, thereby subjecting all laws attempting to
restrict it to the standard of strict scrutiny.

Don't let LIES, or FEAR MONGERING, influence your thinking about the
health care plan being offered which will save you money and likely
YOUR, AND/OR THE LIVES OF YOUR LOVED ONES AND NEIGHBORS.

I am Catholic and I think alot of that is news media melodrama. The
vast vast majority of Catholic people are indifferent to what their
bishops say. And just like us political junkies, if I went up to one
of them and asked them what their bishop's name was , they could not
tell me. I think the whole issue of abortion is a side show....just
like the public option. I understand they may leave it up to each
state. There is no reason to sabotage an entire health care bill
because of a single issue. Most of those old farts holding up signs
protesting should be worried about death panels , not having
babies. :)

Practicing One's Religion vs Imposing It On Others!!!!

Practicing ones religion, spreading it's gospel, & imposing it on
others are two different animals. Tell your bishops to practice what
they preach and stay the hell out of the politics of this once greater
nation. Instead, spread the gospel, that you won't tolerate the fears
imposed on our legistators, by the mandates of their bishops, in order
that they may display the umost respect for the Constituition of the
United States of America!!! Religion & politics don't mix. If
churches want to enslave others by denying them their freedoms to be
who they are, or to make their own decisions, let them give up their
tax free status so they can better promote their nefarious
endeavors. Life styles, the freedom of choice, and health care are
elements used to enslave, denying people of their human rights and
rights provided for by our Constitution.(mnsvho)
