Hi,
One of the things that I just have STUCK in my mind right now is: I want
OUT of this job (That has been redefined for the umpteenth time!) and I'm
ready to do what I love: TEACH and MINISTER and DRUM and FACILITATE
CREATING COMMUNITY and COMPOSE MEANINFUL RITUAL and IMPACT PEOPLE
POSITIVELY. (Doesn't that sound (mostly) like the average "Pastor" or
"Minister" job description?)
I was derailed from that path (my bachelors is in Religious Studies) when
I realized that my tradition (Paganism) didn't have a lot of paid
openings for that position. Now I'm thinking about UUism - is this
compatible?... Other possible avenues (college prof. with a lay minstry
kind of thing?)... The idea of just doing what I love and hoping the
money part happens...
What credentials do I need? What education do I want?
One conversation with a Congregationalist minister later, I'm looking at a
web page for Union Theological Seminary: http://www.uts.columbia.edu/
Anyone else have any other ideas?
Thanks!
Time to make a change blessings,
Amy

I would suggest that you join a UU church or fellowship and commit
yourself to our way of religious life and then decide if you want to
minister to us. A good religious community can do a lot to lessen the
burden of an unfulfilling job and provide ways to minister to people
before you decide to enter the ministry.
Best of luck!
