Aga Khan's Genealogy and Dr. Farhad Daftary

Dr. Farhad Daftary's publication 'The Isma`ilis - Their history
and doctrines' is acclaimed by the non-Ismaili as well as the
Ismaili scholars as an actively pursued scholarly research. The
author is regarded as an authority on the Ismaili movement. He
claims to have devoted more than twenty years of his life to
the
research and writing of this authoritative history of the
Ismailis.
It is one of the reasons that this authoritative book of
Ismaili
history is sold in the Ismaili Jamatkhanas of the world by the
Ismaili Institutions and Religious Education Boards.
Dr. Daftary who happens to be a distant relative of the Aga
Khans acknowledges the thanks of Farideh Aga Khan, who
had been to him a constant source of inspiration and
assistance over the years of his research and writing. The
author also acknowledges the assistance provided by The
Institute of Ismaili Studies, London. The Institute had placed
at
his disposal some rare Ismaili manuscripts. The texts from
these documents have been quoted in the book. Since his
research of the Ismaili movement, until this time, the author
has
been closely associated with the Institute of Ismaili Studies
in
London. It is not surprising to me that Dr. Daftary is not a
follower of the Aga Khan.
Ismailis claim that the 'Noor of Allah' that existed within the
physical body of Ali has been delegated into the body of Karim
Aga Khan through an uninterrupted physical chain of
hereditary descendants. Does the scholarly research by Dr.
Farhad Daftary support or in effect negate this claim? The
Ismaili doctrine emphatically advocates and the Ismaili
Constitution affirms that the Imamat can only be delegated by
the legitimate previous Imam to his own, direct or remoter,
male issue. In other words the physical chain of Imamat should
go back, without any interruption or break, directly to the
first
Imam Ali (a.s.), the son in law of the prophet of Islam, peace
be
upon him.
Many Ismailis possess this voluminous (804 page)
authoritative book of their Imams' perplexing history. It is
said,
more voluminous the book, lower are the possibilities of it
being read, from cover to cover. I hereby invite the readers,
who have overlooked the history of their so called 23rd Imam,
to read from page 385 to 392, and to find out for themselves;
Who was Hasan - ala dhikrihi'l-salam?
Was Hasan - a.d.s., a son of Muhammad b. Buzurg-Ummid?
Was Muhammad b. Buzurg-Ummid, the 22nd Imam or merely a
Da'i (a missionary), conducting the work of Dawa'h (the
mission of inviting people to faith), on behalf of the Fatimid
Imam Nizar, who along with his family members, had been
imprisoned in Cairo by his own relatives?
The years of research by the author and the several
manuscripts and documents quoted, apparently lay bare the
TRUE FACTS. The author has also published an exhaustive
Bibliography of the documents quoted by him from the past
and present, for those who wish to do further research. Can
the recorded documents quoted by the author from the
published materials and manuscripts written by various
historians from the past and present be erroneous?
Within these pages, the readers will also learn about the
heretic Declaration of Qiyama made by this son of a Da`i
named Hasan. The Agakhani Ismaili historians record that the
said Historical Declaration was made by their 23rd Imam Hasan
- ala zikriya-salam. This heretic doctrine of Qiyama liberated
the Nizari Ismailis of the duties and burdens of Shari'a.
Hence,
the Nizari Ismailis began praying with their backs to the
Qiblah
and breaking their fasts and merry making in the middle of the
day, during the Holy month of Ramadan. The Nizari Ismailis
were called by other Muslims as the Malahida (heretics). The
question one may ask is; Are the present day Agakhani
Ismailis following the path shown by this enigmatic personality
from their history?
Dr. Daftary's book was first published in 1990 by Cambridge
University Press, Cambridge, New York and Melbourne,
Australia. It is available in most of the Public Libraries.

The ultimate question is; If their 23rd Imam named HASAN was
NOT a
physical descendant of the Fatimid Imams, but WAS a physical
descendant
of the Imams' Missionary, how sound or valid is the claim of
the present
Aga Khan, who links his ancestry to this HASAN a.d.s., to Lead
the Ismaili Community???

This is an excerpt taken from an essay published in an anthology entitled
Mediaeval Isma'ili History and Thought. The essay is by Prof. Azim Nanji on
Ismaili perspectives on the history of religions:
"In a section dealing with the qiyama (resurrection), there is in the Rasa'il
a dialogue between the saved (al-naji) and the damned (al-halik). It is worth
quoting it in full:
al-naji How art thou?
al-halik I am in the grace of God; I help the Religion and fight against
the enemies of God!
al-naji And who are the enemies of God!
al-halik Those who do not share my right beliefs!
al-naji Even if they are monotheists?
al-halik Yes !
al-naji And if thou capturest themhow dost thou treat them?
al-halik I invite them to accept my ideology (madhab), my belief
(i'tiqad),
my opinion (ra'y)!
al-naji And if they do not obey?
al-halik I fight against them, I spill their blood, I confiscate their
belongings and enslave their offspring.
al-naji And if thou dost not succeed in overcoming them?
al-halik Then I curse them night and day in my prayers, in order to come
nearer to God!
al-naji And dost thou know whether these prayers have an effect?
al-halik No, I do not know, but I know that in doing so
my heart is full of satisfaction. I feel happy!
al-naji And dost thou know why?
al-halik No, tell me why?
al-naji Because thy soul is sick, thy heart is tormented, thy spirit
is tortured; because pleasure is nothing but relief of pain.
Thou
art prisoner in one of the deepest layers of hell, in the
Hutama
(Qur'an, CIV: 4-5) till you are saved from it and your soul
is delivered from its torment!
al-halik Tell me now of thy opinion (ra'y), thine ideology (madhab)
and of how thou art!
al-naji I think I have entered the grace of God. He is so generous
with me that I do not succeed in repaying His generosity. I
am
content with what God gives me, and I am patientat His
orders. I do not
hate any creature and hurt no one; my soul is at peace, my
heart
is free, no creature needs to fear anything from me. I commit
my
religion (din) and my ideology (madhab) to God alone: I am
the
religion of Abraham! "

Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims or ismailis are a progressive Islamic movement well
suited for the 21st century. Walli's posting shows this in the dialogue with a
Muslim fanatic. It is a dialgoue that still echo's to us today.

This is certainly true.
Just someone post some rhetorical dialogue of nosensical pattern doesn't
make a Ismaili Kafir a Muslim.
A Muslim is a believer in Allah and obeys His laws unlike the Ismailis who
are engaged in Shirk and anti-Sharia activities.
The historical evidence of Ismaili falsehood and Hassan Ali's criminalism
is so clear that there absolutely exists no doubt about the falsehood and
Kufar of Ismailies.

SCRIPTURES, not just one or two of them.
1. Now, as a pious Muslim who believes in Allah and the Qur'an, will you

Jamshid, being a person of non-duality, is all of the above (a. b. & c.). Let
this be a koan to those of little understanding. Who gave Meherally the title
of the Grand Inquistor of the Ismaili's? Why is his books riddled with errors?
Why can't he hire a fact checker for his books? Why does he threaten to sue
people who dare to stand up to his nonsense?
