Koranic interpretation of "Cutting" the Hand

Those who listen to the saying and follow the
best of it. Koran 39:18

According to the "knowledge" of the Hadith, the majority
of the hadith are either weak or placed (i.e., fabricated

In the Koran 12:31&50 there is cutting of hands
that does not mean amputation of hands from
the werst
.
There is also Koran 108:3 with the word amputee
yet the word amputation was not used for the
thief in Koran 5:38.

So the middle way is some where in between,like
marking the hand with a permanent scar.

Not to mention that the word hand could be
used metaphorically to mean support, such
as in Koran 51:47 & 2:87.

There is also Koran 9:67 where the constricted
hands were mentioned to refer to people
who do not give to charity or contribute
and there is also Koran 5:64 with the hands
of God spread to mean giving unconditionally
So more and more it is titlting to the metaphorical
meaning of the hand.So cutting the hands
could mean a form of bondage, which was
also applied in the Koranic story of Joseph
where he accused his brother of stealing

I stressed the Koranic story because
it is different than the bibilical story and
as a Abdullah Yusuf Ali has mentioned
the Koranic story is an allegorical one
but that is a different matter.
