MODEL BEHAVIOUR AND CONDUCT
Patience: sabr
Abu Hurairah related that Rasulullah[saw] said:
A strong believer is better and dearer to Allah[swt] than a
weak believer, and there is good in both. Be eager for what benefits you,
seek Allah's[swt] help, and do not be too weak to do so. If any
misfortune befalls any of you, do not say:" If I had done this, or that,
something else would have happened," but say instead, " Allah[swt]
decrees, and He does what He wishes." for saying "If I had done this or
that" opens the door for the acts of the Devil.
[Muslim]

Seeking Knowledge
Abu Hurairah related that Rasulullah[saw] said:
For him who follows a path for seeking knowledge, Allah will ease
for him the path to Paradise.
[Muslim]
the way I understand it, it is not just knwoledge of the deen,
bec islam in its most ideal sense, IMHO, encourages the seeking of
knowledge, period; and is not knowledge of everything going to enhance
our appreciation of Islam, as being the right path? The way I understand
it, if you do physics, and you learn of physical principles, you learn to
appreciate the power of Allah[swt]; similarly, as a student of the
sciences, in biology, everday that I learn more abt the minute signals
that different parts of our bodies send to one another, which we just
take fro granted, is another indication to me of the power of
Allah[swt];the complexity, IMHO, is too great to be explained simply by
evolution, which is what the atheists cling to; this is just one example,
but you get my point, I trust? It is sais action is judged based on
intention; if in your daily life, you are searching for knowledge, aren't
you doing a form of ibada( worship) as well if you are doing it with the
sole imtention of plaeasing Him?
PERSONAL CHARACTER
Intentions
It is narrated by Anas that Rasulullah[saw] said:
If anyone intends to seek blessings of the hereafter, Allah[swt]
gives contentment to his heart, takes care of all his affairs, and the
world comes to him submissively. But if someone intends to seek the
pleasure of this world, Allah[swt] puts poverty before him, and disorder
in his affairs, yet only so much of worldly things as have been ordained
for him come to him.
[Abu Daud, Tirmidhi]
Abu Huarairah reported that Rasulullah[saw] said:
A strong man is not one who knockes other people out in a fight.
A strong man is one who can control his anger.
[Bukhari, Muslim]
Personal Character
Jealousy, hatred and hostility.
Abu Sirma related that rasulullah[saw] said:
He who causes harm will be harmed by Allah[swt] and he who acts
in a hostile manner will be treated in a hostile manner by Allah[swt].
[Ibn Majah, Tirmidhi]
Personal Character
Jealousy:
Abu Hurairah related that Rasulullah[saw] said:
Beware jealousy, for jealousy destroys good deeds as fire
destroys wood.
[Abu Daud]

Personal Character
Cursing
Abu Zaid ibn Thabit narrated that Rasulullah[saw] said:
Cursing a believer is equal to slaying him.
[Bukhari, Muslim]
Ibn Mas'ud related that Rasulullah[saw] said:
A believer does not taunt, or curse, or talk obscenely.
[Tirmidhi]

one:-)
