Dear readers

Allah (swt) mentions in the Quran in Surat Al Nur 18.35

".....Lit from a blessed Tree, An Olive, neither of the East nor
of the West, Whose Oil is well-nigh Luminous, ....."

Why is the Olive Tree described here as blessed?
What is the significant of Olives in Islam?
Is it considered a special tree? why?
What are the benefits of Olives as described in Quran and Hadith?

Why did Allah (swt) talked about the Olive tree specially when
there were no olives growing in Arabia at the time?

It seems that the Arabs at the time knew of this tree and used its
oil for light. Where did they get the oil from? Did they import the
oil from Syria for example?
