I understand and basically agree with Duncan's argument for
cruise missiles as a major component of the Canadian Defense
Forces. I presume that his position includes support for
platforms on which to deploy the missiles.

But I don't understand the reason for "lobbying for a more
general reduction in US armaments." I would have thought that it
would be in the interest of Canada to have the US invest in the
more sophisticated and expensive weapon systems (e.g. smart
weapons forward deployed on carriers) which would provide Canada
with their benefits (no matter how marginal) for free.

In query to the question concerning the T92 or commonly know as
the SMT 1992 Russain MBT, here are some facts.

The T92 is an upgrade of the T72 line. It has better armor,
mounts the Rapier 125mm main gun and can fire the SVIR laser
guided missile system, also currently available for the T80BM (SMT
1989). The T92, like the T80BM is diesel engine, and carries the
same "second generation" reactive armor package. I don't know of
the numbers of vehicles produced but I imagine it is quite low.
This information recently appeared in a new T72 book, produced by
Osprey and written by Steven Zaloga.

I'm doing some research at the University of Reading concerning
the degree domestic policy and issues effect the foreign policy
of a particular nation-state. Any comments or information
regarding this topic would be appreciated.

Does anyone have any info on the M-16 A3 with optional grenade
launcher? Also are there any newer models of the M-16 being
designed? My last question is does anyone know anything (even
the name would be helpful) of the Britain's equivalent to the
m-16?

btw did anybody read the news about america's latest installment
in the stealth family? Very enlightening...
