Earlier, the evidence was available to those who would look that he was a
rightwing authoritarian. His style of political work also revealed him a
troll. Whatever my personal characterization of his views, I did not call
him a fascist because the public evidence was not sufficient to convince an
honest and disinterested person that he was.
Now, the evidence supports that conclusion. Specifically, on Mon, 10 Jan
2000 he wrote to <a.p.s.t.> of his history, concluding:
> And THAT is what has earned me the label "fascist". It is a label
>I will wear proudly on this newsgroup, but I insist on the use of the
>capital "F". Italian Fascism was based on the ancient glory of imperial
>Rome, and not on psychotic anti-Semitism, and veneration of ancient
>Teutonic heroes who worshipped trees and rocks <grin>. Better Caesar
>than Wotan, any day of the week.

Viglielmo's left-to-far-right evolution is not unique to him. Wyatt
Kaldenberg, a.k.a. Wotan, made it. So, reportedly did forces around the
journal ReSEARCH like Boyd Rice and Lisa Suckdog.
In the future I plan on writing a detailed analysis of Viglielmo's
polemical and rhetorical style for it illustrates the nature of today's
sophisticated Fascist propaganda. Not every racist or violent anti-Semite
is a mouth-breather who moves his lips when he reads.
Why, others might ask, do I plan on this? Isn't it just a waste of time,
given Viglielmo's unimportance in the Fascist hierarchy.
True, he is not a fascist leader like W. Pierce of the National Alliance or
Matt Hale of the World Church of the Creator. He is not a historian like
David Irving. Nor is he well know like E. Zundel.
I approach the whole issue in the manner of a doctor or medical researcher.
Such a person may have famous patients. But when faced with a new disease,
the researcher does not ask if the disease should be described if the
person with it is neither General nor Bishop nor Hollywood celebrity.
The entire documented history of Viglielmo lets us track a particular
development of the generic disease we call "fascism." By examining
Viglielmo's history we can gain a better understanding of how some fascists
operate and the rhetorical techniques they use, much as we could analyse
the techniques of the Nazi soapboxers if we had movies of their work.
Thus, the issue of personal importance isn't at all politically important;
it is the political content and action that is important.
