watch me do a google map search and fake that I'm intelligent
Make that from where the Sharpstown Country Club used to be. (It's now
Sharpstown Park, and has been run by the city since the mid-1980s.)

That shows out of date Google is with their maps, then, as I just pointed out.
(Take a look at the satellite maps of the area and don't use the hybrid...then
notice the streets that have been added since the sat photos were taken.)
he can't go there , he's up yer ... ring road

P&FL's been gone almost as long...these days, the hot one is 24 Hour Fitness,
the closest of which is about four miles away near the east end of the
Richmond Strip. (The place has grown a bit in the last twenty years. Trust
me. ;)

To confuse it further, the current 24 Hour at Bering & Richmond used to be a
President & First Lady, if I remember rightly. (It's been crazy since the
late 1970s...and that section of Richmond didn't even exist until 1971.
Before that, the four-lane ended at Chimney Rock and it went the last block to
Bering as a gravel road.)

Chimney Rock Road, indeed...all the way from I-10 to South Main, these days
(where it empties onto the Fort Bend Tollway). My parents went househunting
along the stretch between Westheimer and San Felipe in the summer of 1966 -
which the neighborhood association managed to keep the city from improving it
until almost the end of the century. (I did some of my growing up about five
miles west of that part of town, back when those who went further out
Westheimer either fell off the edge of the earth, were scalped by Indians, or
attacked by dragons. ;-)

The nearest Shipley's is a couple of miles away at Westheimer and South
Gessner...they're local to Houston, and they beat Krispy Kreme any day.

Of course, I'm biased in favor of the home team...but I'll admit KKs are good,
as long as they're still warm, and you can watch them on the assembly line.
if only we could eat them

Check the web site...they'll probably ship. ;-)
i can't eat stuff like that anyway ,
and the cost of shipping would make it so not worth it ,
and to make it worth their while i'd probably need to ,
make a larger order than i would ever want
