The Ofume family was rendered homeless and put into the street on
August 19, 2009.
The family started sleeping from street to street, including their own
church premises, CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS ( Revere,
MA ). Under this life the family was able to prepare their children
and take them to school.
The worst level of persecution is that the bishop of their church
called police to removed them. The DTA, MBHP, DHCD, Catholic
Charities, Red Cross, etc refused to provide them shelter including
homeless shelter.
The government and the agencies refused to give them shelter and job
authorization and at the same time blame them for not providing for
their children. On September 29, 2009 the police and DCF want to use
force to take the children.
This afternoon the family moved into the Embassy at 2:00pm, Ofume
family surrenders to Venezuela Federation Embassy in Washington, DC
for safety and protection.
Media and human right organizations are cordially invited for press
conference in the premises of the Venezuela Embassy.
The cause of all these mistreatment is Dr.Ofume's bid for the
