effectively, because they think of these online volunteers as *real*,
not *virtual*. Are you? Come find out how to get started with *virtual
volunteering*; and what elements make such volunteering successful.
You will learn not only how to work with online volunteers, but also
how to use the Internet to work with ALL your volunteers. This is not
a technology workshop; this is a workshop about working with humans.
Learning objectives
* to understand the value of online volunteers and how to
promote this value internally to the organization
* to identify tasks that could be done by online volunteers,
and to encourage staff internally to develop such tasks
* to fully integrate the recruitment, orientation, support and
recognition of online volunteers into an organization's
existing volunteer management practices
* to know how to get started immediately to use the Internet
to support all volunteers, not just online volunteers
* to know where to find additional, detailed information online
