THE BOOKS: For those not familiar with the Geri-Tones Books.
The Geri-Tones, in performing sing-a-longs for institution-
alized seniors in the Chicago Areas in the late 70s and early
80s, were unable to find any published music books with the
most requested songs, or in keys which seniors could sing.
The result was the Geri-Tones "Director's Book [sometimes
called the "Come Join the Geri-Tones" Song Book] which was
first published over 15 years ago.

THE DIRECTOR'S BOOK: In addition to 162 of the most
requested songs, all transposed into "Senior-Singable" keys,
the Director's Book includes many of the activity ideas used by
the Geri-Tones in conjunction with their sing alongs as a
helpful Director's resource book. For many years now, pro-
fessional Activity Directors and Music Therapists in the US
and Canada have been using this book in their work, and have
found it to be a very helpful tool -- and the book is also
used by a number of college and university music departments
in their music therapy courses.

THE LYRIC BOOK: The Lyric Book is a Companion to the
Director's Book -- and is intended for use by the senior
Sing-a-Long participants. The song lyrics are in "big print"
-- the book uses a wire spriral binder to withstand vigorous
use and folding back on itself.

AND ABOUT US: Sylvia Brown, who works outside of the home as
marketing program director for an artists colony, publishes
these books as an avocational activity with the help of her Spousal
Assistant, Chris, who practices law from their home. As this
publication activity is conducted more as a labor of love than
as a source of any significant family income, the Geri-Tones
have done very little promotion or advertising. Nevertheless,
the Geri-Tone name and reputation has continued to spread by
word of mouth -- and we are putting this information on some of
the internet news groups to help those who may have been
looking for us, find us.
