Portland Journalist: Police Allowed Antifa Protesters to Block Off Streets, Confront Drivers

Portland journalist Andy Ngo told Tucker Carlson Tuesday night that police
officers in the city were afraid of "inflaming" the leftist protests over
the weekend.

Hundreds of demonstrators marched in the city's streets on Saturday after
the fatal police shooting of Patrick K. Kimmons.

Videos of Antifa activists show them directing traffic, shouting
profanities at drivers and even chasing down a car and smashing its
windows.

Ngo, a resident of Portland, said on Tuesday that activist group Don't
Shoot Portland organized the contentious street protest.

He told Carlson that police largely take a "hands-off" approach when it
comes to protesters.

"Demonstrators were allowed to take over a street ... while police looked
on from a block away because they were afraid of inflaming the situation,"
he said.

Some of the anarchists reportedly cursed at an older male driver, accusing
him of being in the KKK because he had a North Carolina license plate.

Protesters blocked the road and directed traffic where to go during the
#PatrickKimmons vigil. Needless to say, it went off without a hitch.

Ngo also said that as far as he knew, Democratic leaders in Portland
didn't denounce Saturday's events and that there's been a dereliction of
duty on the part of Mayor Ted Wheeler (D).

Earlier this year, Antifa protesters occupied the city's ICE headquarters
and harassed employees, even briefly replacing the American flag with a
protest flag.
