The recent rumour that HRH Prince Andrew has recently been initiated
into Freemasonry is not only completely untrue, but is a ludicrous
suggestion in the present climate.
The very idea that a member of the immediate Royal Family would be
allowed to join an order that is attracting such bad publicity, even
if he actually wanted to, is too far fetched for any credence to be
attached to the idea.
When the present GM retires, in the unlikely event that whoever
replaces him is a Royal, he will be so far down the line of
succession we've probably never heard of him.
If we were to sort ourselves out as far as the publicity goes,
( something we've never managed yet, although there's always hope, )
If we were to actively encourage our alegience to our Monarchy
instead of the present apathy at all levels.
If Prince Andrew or any other Royal actually wanted to join.
In the unlikely event that all these things came to pass, I suspect
that it would still be very many years down the line after we had
proven we could keep it up, before any Royal at any level would get
permission to get involved.
Anyway, on the subject of the next GM, we are all supposed to be
equal as Brothers, what's wrong with an ordinary Mason having a
chance at the job, after all, GL is supposed to be OUR Grand Lodge,
not just a club for the extremely wealthy of London.

Sorry Terry, but that is old hat.
Anyway Naval lodge membership is not generally, publicly available.
