As it happens, _Frontiers_ is LA's leading gay newsmagazine, and the fact that

Being published in _Bear_ doesn't really indicate anything, other than that
the publisher likes you for some reason, George.

We get it here. I'll comforrt Mark Thompson and tell him he has little to
worry about.

So does your former employer, then.

Very good, George. Nice example you set.

Working for Frontiers, though I do respect its literary quality and its
persistence, doesn't really indicate anything either, except that the
publisher likes you for some reason, George. Maybe the publisher likes you
because you whine so much. It certainly wouldn't surprise me. You've got
a real talent. Could be considered an asset in certain circumstances.

Aye. The fact I can write Bear-oriented JO fiction -- on which I have
garnered many compliments. Sour grapes, Roj?
We further note you don't comment on the fact I've been published in _Drummer_
-- more sour grapes, dear?

Apparently, certain large distributors and other nationwide outlets don't
agree with you.

Jim Ward is an excellent piercer, but his grasp on the workings of his own
business is tenuous at BEST. Otherwise, he would have more people working in
his mail order dept., which generates the vast bulk of his income, rather than
sitting around in the LA storefront doing nothing of consequence. The entire
time I worked at Gauntlet, he never did seem to grasp the volume the M.O.
dept. dealt with, and from what I am told by persons who still work there,
nothing has changed.
Let's get scientific -- which is more credible, second- or third-hand
anecdotes, or observations from someone actually present?
As Gallagher says, the only way to fight ignorance and stupidity is with
ignorance and stupidity -- since that's all they can understand. Your
response clearly shows you're on the "target" side of the line.
I'm sure you'd know everything there is to know about turning whining into an
asset. This has nothing to do with ME, however.

Please George, enough of your JO routine over the net.

George, dont worry
I have contacts that are perfectly willing to sell you

As for turning whining into an asset, this is summer, it is time to tan
go out and get Brown!
Remember it is better to have a whining asset than a White Ass :-)

Blame me, not Microsoft. I work for them, they let me post.
Follow your BLISS and doors open where there were no doors before.
The "diatribe" will end when I stop getting rocks thrown in my direction; I'm
just picking them up and throwing them back.
If the net will forgive a somewhat saccharine metaphor:
George, don't throw those rocks back. Make a little pile of them and
stand on top. You'll seem taller.
