New Orleans travel question

Howdy. My beau and I are travelling to New Orleans this weekend.
I have access to the usual travel guides, but I was wondering if
someone from the region (or someone who's been there) could suggest
any places of particular interest. My boyfriend is French, so if you
know of any historic areas with a heavier French influence, I'd be glad to
hear about 'em. Otherwise, general interest jazz and food areas...
and gay clubs too. Heck, I'll listen to anything you have to say about
the area. :) Thanks.

From someone who lived 12 years they the best place to visit is the
French Quarter and the main streets around that area. For gay clubs
most of them are on the north end of Bourbin Street. Also why you are
there you must go to Pat O'Brians and have a hurricane.
