Jess, would it be possible to separate the pictures into
/pub/attractive and /pub/ directories? The /pub/attractive will be
very small and will spare people the horrors of unguided surfing thru
the FTP site.

Whoever JoJo is he does a great drag.

By the way, I think there was an error. I believe Melinda's pic was
confused with one of the pics from someone's Save the Children
packets.

It's still being maintained and being passed
around in e-mail from time to time -- as
a sort of _rite_de_passage_.

And it's spelled with a Capital F and
Capital C.

As well as impossible to guarantee, anyway. Best that all those

This is largely because the picture archive dates from those days
before the WWW (yes, Virginia, the "internet" existed before the
web) allowed everyone and their cat to have their own webpage.
At the time when it was being actively maintained, it was really
the *only* source of pictures of motssers available.

You'll note that many of the newer motssers (me, for example) have
no picture there.

Alex.

Well I've had no interest in passing since I came out, and no particular
desire to see the chart, but I would like to know what it is. Is it, as my
darker instincts insist, a list of motss'ers who have fucked (in the
informal manner) other motss'ers?

Oh my gosh, check out this map of MOTSS posters from 1990...

http://140.186.80.3/pub/motss.map.na.gif

and this from 1983 - the first post???

http://140.186.80.3/pub/net.motss.1st.article
---------------------------------------------
Subject: Net.motss is born!
From: sd...@bbncca.ARPA (Steve Dyer)
Path: bbncca!sdyer
Organization: Bolt, Beranek and Newman, Cambridge, Ma.
Date: Fri, 7-Oct-83 01:05:04 EDT

Net.motss is a forum for the discussion of gay-related issues of interest
to
all members of USENET. Its name is an acronym for "members of the same
sex",
coined by contributors to net.singles as an analogue to MOTOS--"member of
the
opposite sex." It is therefore, unfortunately, a euphemism of sorts--an
alternative to the preferred 'net.gay'. Nevertheless, the proponents of
the
group have gladly passed on this minor issue so that the group should be
swiftly formed.

It is designed to foster discussion on a wide variety of topics, such as
health problems, parenting, relationships, clearances, job security and
many others. Gay members of USENET will find this a supportive
environment
for the discussion of issues which have immediate impact on their
everyday
lives. Those who aren't gay have an opportunity to be informed by the
discussion, and are encouraged to read the news items and contribute
their
own questions and opinions.

Net.motss is emphatically NOT a newsgroup for the discussion of whether
homosexuality is good or bad, natural or unnatural. Not is it a place
where conduct unsuitable for the net will be allowed or condoned.
Rather, like every USENET news group, it is an opportunity for people
all across the world to express their opinions, exchange ideas, and
come to appreciate the diversity within the USENET membership.

Looking at those pictures is a strange, nostalgic experience.
I have a picture in there that was taken in early 1991, when I
was (obviously) 8 years younger and 45lbs lighter (I was so
skinny!) A very very interesting time of my life. The other
pictures are two years later, during a _mistake_ period of
my life.

Fascinating.

Cute, but not hairy enough... or maybe he just went wax-happy for his other
films.

From what I can tell in the mainstream press, this character and his
introduction are pivotal to the plot of the movie.

Good lord, of all its current and previous members, what a... 'safe'
line-up. What about Angel, or Iceman? Shadowcat, Jubilee, Nightcrawler?
And of all she's been through, they take this current bland Jean Grey
incanrantion? Couldn't find anyone big enough for Colossus?

And what's with Rogue being, like 19?

Well, in all fairness, she was supposed to be, like, 14 when she joined up.

You have *got* to be fuckin' kidding me. She was with, what,
the Sisterhood of Evil Mutants (Mystique and Destiny), getting
all pissed off at Dazzler for getting in her way, in her *early*
*teens*? She was off siphoning Carol Danvers' power as a *child*?
She was getting her clock cleaned by Carol Danvers (now Binary)
as a *kiddie*?

She had those tits at 14? She was as tall as Binary at 14?

Piffles. It doesn't add up that a Rogue of 14 would look so
much older than a Dazzler of 20. (Find a Dazzler comic and
just *look* at Rogue -- she's a bleedin' double for Mary Worth!)

(Or did the Siege Perilous just recreate her whole-sale?)

Unfortunately, one of the cats expressed its opinion of the
_Beauty and the Beast_ mini-series with a steady stream. :-(
(Can't say I blame it much -- both art and story lacked in
that one.)

whose letter was gutted down to exactly one sentence

Yah. But I seem to remember reading summink about a miscommunication
between Claremont (or who(m)ever) and the artist on Dazzler (which I,
too, have a complete run of (somewhere), scarily enough). She was
designed with two white streaks of hair (which were supposed to be all
punk! and wild!), and the artist though "Hey, she's got gray hair; she
must be ooold. Like, real old. Man." and went all Aunt May for her.

So there!

Fer sher. I have trouble believing I was as scrawny as those
pictures show. Looking at them makes me feel a lot better about
being a bit overweight now.
