Smith gets 15 to life for murder

John Woodrow Smith, 20, was sentenced to 15 years to life after admitting
his guilt to a charge of murder. He beat Larry Graber, 54, to death on
June 13, 1991. He will be eligible for parole at about age 31.
Graber, principal of Howland Springs Primary School, lay in pain from
9pm until 1pm the next day before dying. Smith bragged of robbing
Graber to witnesses. If the allegations of robbery had been substan-
tiated, he could have been indicted on death-penalty level aggravated
murder.
Also:
Smith is now a suspect in the unsolved beating death of Ray Bishop. He
matched the physical description of the person that Ray, an acquain-
tance of mine, left the bar with the night he was killed.

I support drug testing. I believe every public official should be given a
shot of sodium pentathol and ask "Which laws have you broken this week?".

That sentence does not compare favorably to other sentences in
assault convictions because judges refrain from putting "turd"
in their summation. (Even though more than a few judgements
have been full of crap.)

I don't know but I suspect it's low because one news cast said that
the 10 months' sentence was the minimum! >grumble<

But, in the words of the immortal Lena LaMont, the queer is going to
"syew" him, hopefully as in "syew the bastard into bankruptcy". Any
data on how such personal damage suits tend to work out ?
