I'm confused. Why is it altruistic to eat or to help yourself?

You mean, like, shopping, sunbathing, and travel?

Dammit, Kristin, weren't you listening when Chuck Fulton and
I (and Will Parsons in a rousing "hear, hear") proclaimed
that altruism didn't really exist?

It did until recently, when my company abolished it.

We lost our altruism in the last reorganization. I believe the republican
congress plans to cut funding for altruism in the new budget.

"and what's WRONG with Murial Pews!" (see Mame for refer)

I just don't understand why some people get so edgy about the "club scene".

don't take it so seriously. Its for entertainment purposes, only. If you
think that disco music and dance clubs are gay culture then you've only
gotten a small part of what it is to be gay. a very small part.

Anyways, if most of the gayguys you know do all those stimulants, then
associate with others who don't. I'm sure they may like to dance too.

There are so many different scenes you can get into, not just the party kind.

As a guess, I'd say it's the alturistic desire to not inflict upon society
one's malnourished, starved corpse laying in the street?

Well, a bipartisan coalition in Senate Budget tried to amend the
Department of Commerce appropriations to include a one-time outlay for
minimal civility and/or politeness (not including political speeches or
conduct of government, mind you--gotta keep the cost reasonable), but
riders for meanspiritedness, grumpiness, and general nastiness were
amended on, and it was killed in committee.

I guess because it provides gainful employment to grocery store and
bookstore clerks.
