I'm deleting my membership over the contributions made by the
Manhunt.net owner Jonathan Crutchley to the campaign of McCain. I hate
what the GOP has done in the past 8 years to the US Constitution.

I do believe in supporting businesses that support me as a Proud and
Freedom loving Gay Man, an ex-pornstar, with a few websites that follow
my thoughts and actions. I don't shop at WalMart, I won't participate in
Manhunt, any longer.

Besides: I found just too many guys on Manhunt into PNP, so long.

Cancelled mine too. I sent a note to sup...@manhunt.net and asked how
to cancel (I knew how to do it but hoped to get a response). They wrote
back and gave me instructions but then asked why I wanted to leave...I
told them why and haven't heard back.

So everyone who cancels make sure you see if you can get a message
through to them as to "WHY" you are leaving.

Thanks for the heads up!!

That's why I love your group, it's a little bit of everything.

Ray

Well, after not renewing my membership in ManHunt (a
site I really think is great) and sending a note to
support (and I got a nice response from a guy (but no
picture - darn-it)) I was really unhappy that a single
cent would get it's way to Johnathan.

Since then, the board at ManHunt released a statement
which is on
http://signorile2003.blogspot.com/search?q=manhunt

"Jonathan Crutchley has stepped down from his position
at the website".

Founder Larry Basile pointed out that HE is very much
pro gay rights, etc. (Not at all a McCain supporter).

So, we must now ask ourselves,
A) will we punish (continue to punish) ManHunt for
the flaws of one of it's "former" board members
B) will we continue to punish all the good people at
ManHunt who support Gay rights (etc).

In my opinion, the only sane thing to do is to support
the remaining (pro Gay) people at ManHunt by
supporting their business.

Yes - I would like to see Jonathan divest himself from
ManHunt, but, this may be inappropriate since there
are a lot of Republican/anti-gay people out there who
have businesses which Gay people buy products and
services from all the time (and we don't know who they
are). Also, I'm more interested in withdrawing my
financial support from companies who have a corporate
Anti-Gay policy (WallMart comes to mind). (ManHunt
does NOT have a corporate anti-gay policy - it is now
fully pro-gay).

So - time for some thought here and even though I'd
like to do a reflex action of withdrawing my use of
their services - it no longer makes sense to do that
(we may actually hurt people who are pro-gay and who
knows - we may even wonder to a site that we know less
about and be more directly supporting anti-gay
business).

With regard to Jonathan and his misguided idea that
the Republican Party and McCain would be better than
Obama (for national defense, etc), just look at what
the republicans have done regarding foreign policy,
use of military power, etc. They have been terrible.
Compare that to JFK who made the "correct" decisions
during the Cuban Missile Crisis or even Clinton who
made the correct decisions regarding Bosnia (and
implemented a successful political and military
strategy). I'll vote for a smart guy (Obama) vs more
of the same disasterous Republican decision making
(and I'm a life long republican who now can't stand
the republican party or representatives now).

So - my $ 0.02

<snip>

I closed my Manhunt account several months ago. I was in massage
school, and I wrote that in my profile. The site admin wrote back
and said that I had to state in my profile that I wanted to massage
people for free. I wasn't looking for people to massage. I just
thought that since it was ok for all the other boys to put in their
profiles that they were students at UT (or wherever), that it would
be ok for me to put in mine where I went to school. I wrote back to
site admin that unless the other students put in their profiles that
they wanted to give free business services (or whatever, depending
on which school they were in), that the site admin was supporting a
double standard. They never wrote back, and I haven't felt the need
in nearly a year to look at their site. Good riddance!

A "Burning Man" enthusiast who objects to drug use?
That's the funniest thing I've read for quite some time!

It is simply breathtaking to watch the glee and abandon with which
the liberal media and the Angry Left have been attempting to turn
our military victory in Iraq into a second Vietnam quagmire. Too bad
for them, it's failing.
