We are guys who love to cruise and -if we're lucky - have sex with
other guys. Unfortunately, cruising is still a risky business almost
everywhere. That's why we, at Squirt, try to provide you with the tools (no
pun intended) you need for a hotter, safer cruising --which includes posting
warnings provided by our own cruisy members. Go ahead, have fun, take care.

Permission is hereby granted to reproduce and circulate these
warnings, provided any reproduction is preceded by the following notice:
"Permission to reproduce given by Squirt. Originally appeared as part of the
website Squirt, your neighbourhood cruising guide, at

members and Squirt is not responsible for their accuracy."

(Note: the links below each warning will redirect you to the actual
listing on Squirt)

CANADA

Quebec

Montreal
Rue Sainte-Antoine X Rue Amherst (10/31)
On a nice evening, lots of people around, maybe 100...and then 50 police
cars surrounding the area, all lights on. We escaped by running under a
fence, but most of the guys were arrested. Police does that twice a year:
once in spring when the place gets crowded and the second time in the fall
to remind us that they are indeed the "real men".

Montreal
VIA Train Station (11/06)
Be careful in Le Faubourg Ste.Catherine (shopping-food court): young cuties
in the washrooms, very obvious. They suggest you follow them into the
emergency stairs where it's private...then have 3 or 4 friends waiting to
rip you off. Can be very dangerous!

UNITED KINGDOM

England

Basingstoke
Basingstoke Town (10/26)
The local Police Station (which has been closed for repairs) is due to
re-open during November 2000 and is literally just around the corner!
http://10.1.1.5/site/listing.asp?Post_ID=518

Bournemouth
The Eastcliff, Boscombe (10/30)
Be careful as the first cliff-top shelter after the steps up from Boscombe
Pier (Bournemouth side, near to where the road goes round in circle) is
regularly used by drug dealers; there is often one hanging around there,
transactions take place in adjoining bushes. Police are aware and
occasionally check.
http://10.1.1.5/site/listing.asp?Post_ID=587

Croydon
Drummond Centre Public Toilets (10/27)
The central cubicle has had its door removed and the security guards have
cracked down on this place. It's no good, and no one but real "desperados"
go there anymore.
http://10.1.1.5/site/listing.asp?Post_ID=2228

Great Yarmouth
North Drive Cottage (10/30)
I went here yesterday for some action, but was scared off by the warning on
the door by Yarmouth police saying that the locals had complained about the
place being used for guys to pick up other guys and the police are keeping
the place under surveillance. Be warned.
http://10.1.1.5/site/listing.asp?Post_ID=2571

Lancaster
Crook O Lune (10/26)
Doesn't at all surprise me if there have been reports in the paper. Last
time I was there the police drove through the car park and had a good look
at the people there (me and some bikers who weren't cruising).
http://10.1.1.5/site/listing.asp?Post_ID=4330

Leicester
Abbey Park, Rear Car Park (11/04)
There have been several attacks made on gay boys in the last recent months.
The Police did regular trips to the car park and pathways along the canal.
Due to the nature of the position of the cruising ground, along a tow-path,
it can be dangerous as you normally get chucked in the canal! There have
been two murders, countless mugging and cars have been damaged. The plus
point is that the Rangers House is no longer occupied as the residents where
evicted by the local council for violent behaviour against cruisers.
http://10.1.1.5/site/listing.asp?Post_ID=4489

London
Hay's Galleria (11/05)
I went two Sundays ago and a caretaker stopped us the entrance. There has
been an incident, he said. Trouble with the gays, he added. Did he mean gay
guys had been attacked or he had been making himself a nuisance with guys
getting it together. I didn't wait to find out.
http://10.1.1.5/site/listing.asp?Post_ID=3837

London
South Cloisters (11/05)
Since the DMS Watson library cottage was shut for "health and safety"
reasons, according to the notice, but actually it was because of complaints
from the caretakers about action there. This one has been under much more
regular surveillance.
http://10.1.1.5/site/listing.asp?Post_ID=3725

Manchester
Chorlton St & Tibb St cottages (opposite Affleck's Palace) (11/08)
Tibb Street cottage has a camera at the entrance and it is also used by drug
Addicts. I myself was almost stabbed by someone throwing a used needle over
cubicle wall. Most recently, it has been raided a number of times.
http://10.1.1.5/site/listing.asp?Post_ID=2364

Manchester
Chorlton Street Coach Station (10/25)
Tried it 2 or 3 times recently. Pretty quiet even at rush hr. Guy in a
security uniform standing near entrance -- probably the reason. Seen similar
security guys at other well known Manchester city centre cruising places
(e.g. canal). There must be some sort of crackdown going on at present, so
be careful! Still worth a try though but it will be better again when they
stop wasting their time on this and start trying to catch some real
criminals instead. They will never stop horny lads cruising for dick. For
now, be extra careful.
http://10.1.1.5/site/listing.asp?Post_ID=4416

Manchester
Manchester-Rochdale Canal (10/25)
Security guards spotted here recently, be very careful. Some kind of
crackdown in Manchester city centre is going on at the present. They should
fuck off, stop hassling consenting guys having sex out of sight and go and
catch some fucking criminals -- that's what we pay them for.
http://10.1.1.5/site/listing.asp?Post_ID=4376

Manchester
Manchester-Rochdale Canal (11/08)
At canal entrance, close to Ducie Street, there has been a group of lads
hanging around, who seemed to be there as if they were looking for trouble.
If left alone, they don't bother anyone. But still be very careful, as
occasionally, queer bashers, sometimes with knives, have been known to show
up, especially at the weekend, when it can get very busy.
http://10.1.1.5/site/listing.asp?Post_ID=4376

North Norfolk
Holkham Beach (11/05)
Wildlife rangers patrol and can be really offensive in their attitude,
taking an unnecessarily agressive attitude to any single guy. Fortunately,
there are only a couple of them and the beach is huge.
http://10.1.1.5/site/listing.asp?Post_ID=2226

Witham
Cottage just off A12 Witham (10/29)
The bushes have all been cut back and it is veru open now. Police activity
has been stepped up. They came around 4 times in less than an hour and a
half last Wednesday (25/10/00)
http://10.1.1.5/site/listing.asp?Post_ID=577

UNITED STATES

California

Indio
Cactus City Rest Area (10/28)
Visited in the middle of the week and found police entering and slowly
driving through, and park way over with the truckers and walk back to john.
http://10.1.1.5/site/listing.asp?Post_ID=2333

Playa del Rey
Sandpiper Street (11/06)
There was an ad in the "LA Times" and "Frontiers" awhile back that they are
giving tickets here for any loitering or cars parked in the red zones. Cops
say families in the area are complaining.
http://10.1.1.5/site/listing.asp?Post_ID=838

West Hollywood
Pacific Design Center (PDC) (11/06)
Be very careful...it was just in the "LA Times" that there was a police
sting operation going on during this summer and that people were arrested.
They used undercover cops that cruised guys outwardly and then arrested
them. Watch your backs, so it doesn't happen again.
http://10.1.1.5/site/listing.asp?Post_ID=1624

Hawaii

Honolulu
Diamond Head Beach (11/04)
Police and DLNR frequent the area since slopes are ''no trespassing''. No
warnings, just arrests.

Indiana

Fort Wayne
After Dark (10/30)
Beware of a black, bald-headed guy in the parking lot down the street, where
everybody parks, that goes to this club. He will say he wants to suck you,
but while he's doing that, he will try to lift you wallet. He tried to take
mine, and when he found out I didn't keep my money in it, he tried to take
my money from me, But he wasn't quick enough. Just beware...

Massachusetts

Worcester
Green Hill Park (10/28)
Vice cops are hot on this spot. Now that the park has been re-vamped, they
Will do whatever it takes to bust your ass. I know some of them...so, be
careful!

Minnesota

St. Paul
Crosby Farm Park (10/31)
Crosby Farm shall no longer be a hot spot. The St. Paul Police are involved
in heavy enforcement in this area. Sexual conduct in the park will not be
tolerated. Be warned. Most of the males are undercover officers.

New Jersey

Rest Stop 1 mile north of exit 47 on Route 295 (10/27)
Use some caution. They have now trimmed all the trees, making it more open.
And in the last month or so, I have seen both local Burlington cops and Sate
police rouse a couple of consenting adults. Do not be too obvious, have been
told they "sting" this place from time to time, as they have had complaints,
http://10.1.1.5/site/listing.asp?Post_ID=1925

Rest Stop between exit 47 (Mt. Holly/ Burlington) and exit
52(Columbus/Florence) on Rt 295 (10/26)
Have seen both local Burlington cops & State police rouse some consenting
adults. Plus, they have trimmed all the trees, making it rough to play in
the woods. Use caution and do not stand out like a sore thumb.
http://10.1.1.5/site/listing.asp?Post_ID=1926

New York

Queens
Forest Park (11/03)
Watch out for the cops. They'll chase you and you will either get a ticket
or even get thrown in jail for the night.
http://10.1.1.5/site/listing.asp?Post_ID=1031

Texas

Austin
Garrison Hall 1st floor, UT campus (11/02)
Just be careful! I witnessed two guys being escorted out by UT police last
week. I'm not sure if they got caught sucking or what...but again, be
careful. It's much safer in Welch Hall, room 3.502.
http://10.1.1.5/site/listing.asp?Post_ID=1779

Austin
Hippie Hollow (11/07)
Nowadays it is dangerous and crawling with LCRA park police on that hill.
They watch for it and have a dragnet that scours the hill regularly. I
almost got caught myself if I hadn't escaped over the fence at the top near
the road, and it took a lot to get over it. I would not do that sort of
thing these days, unless things have changed drastically, which I doubt.
Every time we find a solid good suck-off place, the damn nazis come along
and ruin it! You know how it goes.
http://10.1.1.5/site/listing.asp?Post_ID=2019

Dallas
Tom Braniff Park (11/05)
I watched several people get arrested by the Dallas undercover cops...be
very careful. They can also come in from the backside of the park, so it
would seem that the deeper you go into the park the safer it would be, but
this is not true.
Great place to pick up and for fast. quick sex, but also dangerous.
http://10.1.1.5/site/listing.asp?Post_ID=4590

Dallas
Trestle (11/05)
This place can be a lot of fun, but be careful. I was there one night with
two friends. The place was raided. Both of my friends were arrested and put
through pure hell for the next two years: probation, weekly trips to a
shrink...just because they were giving head at the wrong time. It was
considered "Public
Lewdness"...thank God, I was out in the car doing the same thing when the
raid went down (so to speak), or I would probably have been arrested, too.
This place can be fun, just be aware of the risks involved as well.
http://10.1.1.5/site/listing.asp?Post_ID=662

Fort Worth
Corral (10/28)
Watch out if you are picked up just outside the bar (towards 651). A guy who
claimed to be "Curtis" took me for a ride. He pounded my butt good, and it
was kind of funny how he managed to cum at the same time that I did. He
dropped me off back a little way away from my car, and as I see him drive
off, I realize that I don't have my wallet...
http://10.1.1.5/site/listing.asp?Post_ID=2264

Virginia

Richmond
Willow Lawn Mall (10/30)
It is a good cruising area, but be warned. The cops, security, mall
employees and visitors know about it and keep a close eye on it. I wish they
didn't, but they do. If you get caught, police will handcuff you right then
and there drag you through the mall in cuffs, and you will be banned from
entering the mall. And if you work there, you will be fired from your job.
http://10.1.1.5/site/listing.asp?Post_ID=3978

Washington

Seattle
Volunteer Park (10/30)
Police entrapment is currently happening at both Volunteer Park and the
Arboretum by the 520 bridge. The cops work in pairs and are actually
arresting, and the DA (up for re-election) is prosecuting. There have been
over 40 arrests in the last month!
http://www.squirt.org/site/listing.asp?Post_ID=962

Wisconsin

Milwaukee
Grand Avenue Mall (Plankinton) (11/08)
Be advised: the basement bathrooms are a mere ten meters from the security
office. Almost every time I have used the bathroom (for peeing, not for
cruising), there has been a security guard within sight of the bathroom, and
about a third of the times I've been in there, there has been a spot-check
inside. This doesn't seem to me to be a safe place for a quickie.

A few years ago, when a Canadian friend came over to the Netherlands we
were taking a stroll to the Scheveningse Bosjes, which is a well known
and even ancient gay cruising area. Due to incidents of gay bashing,
there was a lot of police around. And even though we were not cruising
my Canadian friend got nervous. I had to tell him that the police was
actually there to protect the cruising gay men :-).

When a friend of mine was stabbed in the Rose Garden in the Vondelpark a few
years ago he was able to go to the police without having to worry about what
they would make of him being there in the first place. Holland is
definitely different in that regard.
