I think this guy shot himself in the foot when he voluntarily resigned
(which one should almost never do when working for the government). He
probably doesn't have a case now; even though by Mr. Hall's reasoning
he shouldn't have been punished either (!)

Why bother going through the motions? He already knew the
inevitable result.
It is clearly a case involving the preferential treatment of
women, which always flies in the face of the doctrine of equal
protection of the law. But who cares, right? It's only a small
matter of ignoring that pesky old Constitution.
