During the Second World War the British Museum in London was twice hit
by German bombs, the second passing through the hole made by the
first. Neither bomb exploded.

strangely too, a book on teutonic warfare techniques was taken out
from the westminster library on 14th december 1918 by a ficticious person,
and was returned anonymously only on 13th december 1945,
thereby avoiding the 27th whole year fine by one day.
