It was a Presidential Election year, so maybe something dealing with
Teddy Roosevelt's campaign.

dear time capsule,
what you put in the time capsule depends who and what and where and
how much wealth you have to place in storage.
1904 U.S. and no particular place -0- so here we go!
There would be money first of all.
starting with a penny or possibily five or ten pennies, then
nickels, dimes quarters and any other silver there was at hand say one
of each. There would probadly be a paper dollar bill or a silver
dollar, but nothing larger.
if it is out western U.S.,there would be a sample of the local
industry or a glass jar of grain if farming or a sample of mineral
or metal if mining.
A bible
There would be a 1903/ 1904 Sears and Roebuck catalog.
a copy of the U.S. Constitution, a copy of the state constitution, a
copy of the town charter.
Any other book the group burying the time capsule thought important -
say a copy of current poetry , a copy of Shakespeare, a copy of a
local ladies writing society or ladies club collected stories.
there would be a copy of the local newspaper ,possibily a copy of the
nearest big city newspaper.
business cards or business circulars, if they were wealthy enough to
afford them
a picture of the group burying the time capsule , the town, the town
fathers, a picture of any workers group that could afford to get their
picture taken together and a written explanation of your project and
why it was being done.
maybe a baseball or some other small articles.
it is entirely up to your imagination as to the people doing this
project.
does this help?
yours truly,
