I am trying to find infomation on the DF Section of the SOE. To my
understanding they were responsible for safe routes of travel for
undercover agents. Any infomation is greatly thanked.

SOE DF section established and managed escape lines for
British and British-controlled SOE agents in France. RF
section looked after escape lines for Gaullist-controlled
SOE agents in France. MI 9 looked after escape and evasion
arrangements for POWs across the world but made use of SOE
resources in France and the Balkans and SIS (MI6) resources
in some countries. And the US MIS-X did all of the above for
US purposes.

See "The SOE in Europe" MRD Foot, HMSO 1976 (British
official history).

Matty,

I looked in the glossary of the SOE Syllabus and only reference to "DF" is
the meaning "direction finding", which is talking about enemy methods for
illegal transmitting.

Can you check abbreviation so I can possibly give more info on what you're
actually looking for?

According to Foot, 1st ed, page 19:
"..most of DF's operators lived in hourly peril of their lives. Their task
was to provide
clandestine communications to and from western Europe by sea and land;
principally
to run escape lines across France into the Iberian and Breton peninsula.

Have a look at http://www.64-baker-street.org, which is all about SOE. I
haven't looked at it much, but it seems good.
