I'm looking for some info on a German diplomat called
Ernst Guenther Mohr. According to Jorge Camarasa's "Odessa
al Sur"(1995), Mohr (born in 1904) became German adviser
to the Dutch government at The Hague in 1939. During the
occupation of Holland, he collaborated with the German
ambassador to the deportation of Dutch Jews to
extermination camps. In 1941 he was transferred to Brazil,
then came back to Holland in 1943. On 25 June 1943 he
denounced to the police the presence of Jews who hadn't
been deported yet.
Afterwards he was promoted, and in 1944 he served
as official intermediary of the government with the
Chief Command of the Army. He was also in charge of
section 1-M, which controlled espionage and counterespionage.
After the war he was still a big shot. In 1949 he
was apparently working with the Federal Chancellery in
Bonn. He was also the Official Representative of West
Germany to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.
In 1951 he became Head of Legation in Venezuela, and
in 1955 Chief of Protocol in Berlin. In 1958 he became
ambassador to Swizterland and in 1964 to Argentina.
During his trial in Jerusalem, Eichmann admitted
that Mohr had studied with him "in detail" the
evacuation of Jews to extermination camps, and in
1965 an old report by the old ambassador became public.
It was dated 26.1.1941 and stated his involvement in
the deportation of 440 Amsterdam Jews as a puntive
measure against acts of sabotage. Also, according to
the Limburg trial of doctors involved in the T4
"euthanasia" programme, it came out that in 1943 alone
Mohr had ordered the deportation of up to 100,000
Dutch Jews to extermination camps.
What I would like to know is: does anyone have
any other sources on this guy? Also, what happened to
him after his crimes became public knowledge?
Did helive happily ever after?
Thanks,

Marco de Innocentis
