if you guys send me your research surnames and email; I'll put something out
there;

Hi all,
this is my first posting. I have been watching the list for a few weeks,
and decided that it was time to get my feet wet. I thought the easiest
thing to do was to post my surnames. Have not seen any of these on the list
but hope that someone can help.

Here goes:

From Clarendon: GIRVAN; THOMPSON; ENGLISH

From Black River, St.. Elizabeth: WALLACE; SMITH; BLAIR

From Kingston: TAVERNS

Thanks for any help and for allowing me the posting,
Debbie

Hi Al....

Thanks so much for taking on this task. It is much appreciated.

I am looking for the following:

FIGUEROA - any time period in Jamaica - have a good amount of info from
1850's on
down.

COOPER - I believe mostly Westmoreland and Trelawney areas.

RITCHIE - Kingston and St. Andrew area (could be others)

McINTOSH - Kingston area

TOOZELIN (sp?) - Westmoreland area

The first 3 are the most important in my research.

Thanks again.

I have been reading this newsgroup for the last 6 months and I have found it
to be very interesting and enjoyable. keep it up.

I am not doing any research on my lineage, but I am curious if any of you
researchers have come across the name LEDGISTER which is my mother's
surname. She was born in 1926 in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. I think her
father' name was Agustus LEDGISTER. I use the name Agustus because his
nick-name was Gussy. My mother always indicate that my grand-father have and
may still have some relatives originating from south St. Elizabeth.

I've more than come across it, I'd say. If you're a Ledgister from south St
Elizabeth, then you're a relative of mine.

Ken, There's a Paul Ledgister from that neck of the woods, that owns a Travel
Agency in Mississauga, Ontario. Canada. If you wish, I could either get him to
contact you or get more info. Born circa 1940. Let me know.

Boy, I've been away a long time!

I was listed on the mordibund Name-List, but haven't found much from
this quarter lately. Guess it's time to try again, lots of new people
here.

ALBERGA Kingston, particularly anything about Henry, who was killed
at Morant Bay
GEDALIA The only names I know are Hannah, daughter of Samuel/Samah
HART Ansell Hart's family -- anything earlier than Aaron, and any
recent
members
NUNES Families of Ralph/Rapheal, Benjamin, Michael Angelo (of
Falmouth).
Any other branches, particularly connections between them.
SAMUEL(S)
CORINALDI Any extant branches? (One is Australia!)

I've got distant connections (relatives of relatives) to HENRIQUES,
ASHENHEIM (via DELGADO and DeCORDOVA), BRANDON, LYON, MORDECAI, DaCOSTA
LEVY, LINDO, DePASS, and others.

Happy to share, although I've been having trouble getting my program's
(Brother's Keeper) GEDCOM to be accepted by FTM.
