MUNTON Antigua

I am researching my ancestor, Anthony MUNTON who married Hester BYAM in
Antigua in 1781. I there anyone with any access to Antigua records who
could perhaps find more information? Thank you

In our line, Thomas Ottley married Grace Johnson Byam the sister of Sir
Ashton Warner Byam, Attorney General of Grenada, and daughter of Frances
Byam, Clerk of St. Johns, Antigua. This was in the early 1800s. Later this
week, I'll send you other information shared with me from the list about
the Byams. I don't know if the Hester Byam is in my info, but I'll look.

You have probably by now found out much more about this. I am a descendant of Ann Hester Sutton, whose mother was Lydia Byam. Hester ad Ann were sisters and I suspect my 2x great grandmother was their god-daughter. I have letters from Ann, then living in Pear Tree Green. My family visited there, where Ann shared the house with the Muntons.

I think I could be descended from the sister of your Anthony (1755-1814)'s father, Anthony (1721-1755).
My Henry Griffiths (I believe) was bc1754 at Shotley SFK, the son of Charles GRIFFITHS and Alice MUNTON (m.1750 Wellingborough NTH). She was bc1725 the dau of Anthony and Alice MUNTON (Vicar) of Wollaston NTH. Charles was the son of Thomas GRIFFITHS bc1726 of Wollaston. Anthony MUNTON bc1689 was the son of Henry MUNTON of Uppingham.
Charles GRIFFITHS was curate at Shotley, but appears to have ended up Chaplain of the 79th Regt in Madras, India arriving Sept 1758, dying there in 1768 leaving Henry an "orphan". Not sure what happened to Alice his wife.
