Am just wondering if there were any Garcia/sia de Pass, dePass or de Paz
mentioned in the Sephardic synagogue records for Kingston. Also any
reference to an Esther Brandon or Esther Garcia/sis de Paz etc. Esther
married Jacob Garcia de Paz (parents of Aaron, Rebecca, Bathsheba, Isaac and
David). In the book Jews, Slaves & The Slave Trade,
Setting the Record Straight, by Eli Faber, there is mention an Esther
Brandon in 1745 in Jamaica...but perhaps a bit too early as her children
were born around 1785 onward. Jacob is shown as Jacob Garcia de Paz - and
Aaron as Dr. Aaron Garcia (seeming dropping the de Paz). We have not been
able to find any birth or marriage records for Esther and Jacob - the only
reference we have is from "First American Jewish Families; Americans of
Jewish descent; American Jewish Archive" by Stern as being the parents of
Aaron, etc.
No rush, just when you have some time.

Can it wait till I return from British Columbia? I'm flying out there on
Saturday for a week's vacation and visit with family. I'll be off the list
for the week. Will get back to you when I return.
There is absolutely no rush at all...do enjoy your trip to my adopted
Province - I searched for the closest place I could find in Canada to the
tropics and landed up on Vancouver Island - at least I'm surrounded once
again by the ocean even though I can't put my foot in it!
Have a wonderful holiday
Angela
