LDS - Pilot Family Search Records

This is a great start to a wonderful and well needed service.
Hopefully we will continue to see more and more records added for all
our Islands.

I have been using the site since I discovered it over a month ago.
Anyone researching ancestors in the Parish of Trelawny in Jamaica, are
in luck as it is the first ‘block of records’ to be put on line for
Jamaica. The following records are up: The Trelawny Parish Civil
Registration and Births, 1878 – 1930.
Districts of: Albert Town, Bellevue, Bounty Hill, Bunker Hill, Clark’s
Town, Deeside, Duncans, Falmouth, Hampden, Lowe River, Rio Bueno, Salt
Marsh, Sawyer’s Market, Stewart Town, Ulster Spring, Wait-a-bit,
Waldensia.

I cannot speak for Dorothy but I have really enjoyed
working on the Jamaican records but for some reason it has been a battle
to even get them on line. I think the US and most other countries take
priority over the West Indian ones. As for an answer to your question to
the URL link I wish I can help you but I have not a clue. I might add
also that the US Virgin Islands are now in the process of being
transcribed.

Hi Grace:

Clarendon isn't up yet. If you go to
http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=allCollections;r=2
you'll see that the only records for Jamaica at present are for Trelawny. I
guess LDS are still checking Clarendon before putting it up.

I'm hoping that they will soon set up another parish for Alba and myself to
index. Haven't seen anything so far.
