I wish to contact any Allis researchers who are researching this surname
from the Lincoln area. My interest lies with a William Allis who married
Margaret Allen in 1884 at Lincoln. He would have been born c1856 to a
Henry Allis. Other people named in documents are Jane Allis and Charles
Allis. I would like to know what happened to this William Allis between
the years 1886 and 1913 as it has come to our knowledge that his wife
Margaret Allen ran away with another man between the years 1886 and 1893
and went to Australia with him. She eventually married this man (James
Butler) on Dec. 8th 1913 in Victoria, Australia and I have to wonder if
William had died at that stage or whether he had divorced his wife. Can
anyone help? Leanne.
