James Pike, b 25 Dec 1822 in KY; m 12 Jun 1845 Mary Troxel in Iowa; d 25 Nov 1895 in Lane Co., OR.

This family went to from Appanoose Co., Iowa to Dallas, Texas in 1852. He went there to join a cousin, Joe
HARDEN who lived near Dallas. Does anyone know anything about Joe HARDEN or James PIKE? James Pike
was supposidly the son of a William and Lydia Pike. I know nothing about them either. In 1854 James Pike
moved his family again to California and later Oregon. Joe Harden did not go along.

I have a copy of the diary kept of this trip. Other families in 1852 to TX were Frederick TROXELL, Edom
SHUGART, and James CLIFTON. Families moving on to OR in 1854 were BRIGGS, HAWT, KEATING, and an old
man named WADE.
