I have a fragment of a letter in which my grandfather (James Herbert
Huyck) says that his grandfather (Aaron Huyck) had a brother (John) who
moved from Ontario, Canada to Michigan about 1850. He had a son Jimmie
(James) Huyck. That's the only reference to John or James that I have
come across. Does anyone have any information that might fit?

Warren,
Try one of these:
John Huyck 1831 Petitioner Monroe County MI Early Census Index
John Huyck 1840 Federal Census Cass County Volinia Twp page 206
John E. Huyck 1860 Federal Census Cass County Marcellus Twp page 394
Also check the BLM site because there are 2 purchases for property by John
Huyck. One in 1827 in Monroe and one in 1839 in Kalamazoo
Good Luck,
Kim
