NUGENT / WHALEN; Tullamore, Offaly, IRL; c. 1850

THOMAS NUGENT of Tullamore and ANNE WHALEN (father DENNIS WHALEN)
married in 1866 in Kings Co., Offaly. Son PATRICK born 1867; they
emigrated to first Dayton/Cincinnati, Ohio and then on to Chicago.
They had 8 children including:

Patrick (1867-Ireland), Margaret, Lillian (1870), Thomas (1876),
Katherine (1879), Daniel (1881), Edna (1886) Catherine and Mary
Therese.

Thomas was listed as a stone polisher on the 1900 Chicago census.
The boys were all listed as lathers. Anne was listed as having
been born in India to an English born father and Irish born mother.

Patrick married Ellen Kelly in Chicago (1880s) and their children's
names were: Thomas, Catherine, Anne, Mary and (my grandfather)
Edward Nugent.

(Guessing that THOMAS' father's name might have been PATRICK --
there is only one Patrick on Griffith's and he was also from
Tullamore, Kilbride parish.)

(There is a DENNIS WHELAN listed in the Griffith's Index
Denis Whelan Offaly/Kings Parish is Roscrea Town Drumakeenan)

Sounding familiar to anyone?
