BRASSEUR, Robert Fr. Quaker in Virginia 1636

Looking for the origins of Robert BRASSEUR who had land in Nansemond Co., Virginia in 1636. He was a
French Huguenot who became a Quaker. He had a daughter, Margaret, who married Thomas Jordan in
1659 in Virginia. Any ideas about the Brasseur family and Robert's wife would be greatly appreciated.

Are we talking about a brother of Benois Brasseur who went to MD?

This is a very well researched surname. THere are as meany as 17
spellings. The most common are Brashear, Brashears, Brasheir,
Brasheirs, and the spelling you give. There are many micro filsm
available at the Family History Centers. If you do a search on the web
you'll come up with several home pages containing this surname or
variations of it.
