Have you tried to just delete the the unknown spouse? If you have
tried that, when you show the unknown spouse are their any children
shown in the Family View?
In the Family View with the Unknown spouse showing on the right side
with the husband on the left. Highlight each of the children show in
that family view. In Person, Attach/Detach person, detach the the each
of the children.
Once all of the children are detached from the Unknown spouse she will
disappear.
