I just read some information about the late Disney actress Janet Munro that
sounded "odd." The information gave the fact that she had two husbands during
her lifetime, and that she was born in Scotland in 1935 and that she died on
December 6, 1972, cause of death: "choking while drinking some tea." This means
that she only lived to the age of 38.

I have spent two hours on the Internet but have only found some limited
information regarding the names and dates of her movies (two of which were
Disney's "Darby O'Gill and the Little People" - Sean Connery's first movie- and

Disney's "Swiss Family Robinson.") I don't know *where* she died, whether in
the states or in the British Isles. There also was an issue of some
"degradation" in her life which I am not sure about. (Meaning, could she have
taken her own life and people who loved her said she died choking on tea.)

Does anyone know the circumstances of Janet Munro's death, or does anyone know
how to find out about her death certificate?
Thanks.
Flanagan

If you found that on the Internet Movie Data Base (http://us.imdb.com/)
then we read the same thing. If you didn't then it appears there also,
including 2 husbands. Why do you find that so unusual? Do you have
information that would contradict those facts?

I couldn't find anything on the 1997 SS DI. Maybe that was her stage
name and not name for SS purposes.

Flanagan,

There are medical conditions (Huntington's Disease for one) where
everything stated above is a very real possibility and not part of a
coverup.

The following book should be consulted by anyone researching someone
connected to the motion picture industry. If your local library does not
own it, you can probably issue an interlibrary loan request, asking an
owning library to copy the entry for Munro (assuming there is one) and
sending it to you. "Variety" is the weekly trade journal of
Hollywood. Hope this helps.

I remember her! Gorgeous actress, lovely Irish looks and I enjoyed seeing both
movies. I remember being envious because she got to kiss Sean Connery.
One other thing, he sang in Darby O'Gill. It's obvious that he was not
destined for a singing career.

This (death of Janet Munro) was discussed about a year ago. You could
try a search of Deja news. My remembrance is that she was married to
an actor (cannot remember his name but was very popular during the
60's, particularly on TV) and they lived on an island in the Thames.
She took out a rowing boat and was later found drowned, or was
swimming from the island to the river bank and was drowned. Her
husband was often described as having drinking problems, i.e. an
alcoholic.

I wanted to thank all of you who responded to my query about how to find out
about the strange circumstances of Disney actress Janet Munro's death at the
age of 38, by "choking on some tea." I must admit that I'm still a bit
frustrated...

I received the following information from the Los Angeles Times but the cost of
the search is too rich for my blood...
