appears to have suffered a suspicious death ]

A quick DAGS tells me I can get indexed Boston passenger lists up to
1943 at NARA and Ancestry.com, but I haven't found a source for any
later than that. I know I didn't look very hard, but can anyone
suggest where they may be found? Thanks.

1950 probably falls within the Patriot Act restrictions. And being
only about 50 years ago, it almost certainly hits Federal Privacy
laws.

However, I understand there is a mechanism through which you can
request information on people who are on the list of accepted
relationships ... check out the new ICE website

http://www.ice.gov/

or the Homeland Security website:

According to something I just read at the USCIS website, it says you
should contact NARA for copies of sea, land or air mainifest lists
prior to December 1982.

It's possible that NARA has not filmed the passenger records after
1943, or I suppose it's possible those lists no longer exist.

I looked briefly at the NARA site but did not see anything for
Boston after 1943. You can send them and email and ask

http://www.archives.gov/contact/

Thanks, Bob, I'll have a look. "DAGS" is "do a Google search" and
you can probably imagine what tone of voice it's often written in.

Thanks, Cheryl, that's helpful. A revolting development, but good to
know!

Hi Lisa, thanks for that. I'm getting the impression that my luck
runs out at 1943, but it can't hurt to ask.

Let us know if you find further information. I don't think it's a
privacy issue because there are NY & Detroit passenger records at
ancestry.com that go to 1957, and something labelled Atlantic ports
passenger records that go to 1959.

Thanks,
Lisa
