Opinions welcomed, cold facts feted with fatted calf --

http://www.findagrave.com/

Memorial # 43499853
name on stone is Fern WARD

There is a 5-point star in a circle which has a rim of text.
Can anyone read what the text is? American Society
something, is my best-guess. It's not an OES emblem.

Thanks!

I couldn't read it either, but you might want to email the submitter
Jules to see if either he knows the symbol or can take another
picture.

American Legion is close but I can't read the inscription. It might
be the Star of Bethlehem.

Why do you insist on doing things the hard way and making your
respondents do so as well? Only a few clicks to paste

<http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=43499853>

My suggestion: Click on Cemetery name.
Click on view all interments
Select Names with grave photo

Look at all the photos for other females to see if there is another.

Or file a photo request with a comment that you would like to read
the emblem.
