Leo has Christopher, 1st Viscount Hatton of Gretton, in his database,
here:
http://www.genealogics.org/getperson.php?personID=I00126056&tree=LEO

Christopher Hatton was baptized 6 November 1632 at St Bartholomew the
Great, West Smithfield, London, and died in 1706. Per his HOP bio,
his death was reported on 24 September 1706:
http://www.historyofparliamentonline.org/volume/1660-1690/member/hatton-hon-christopher-1632-1706

Leo says Viscount Hatton died before 24 April 1706. The 1st Viscount
also has a bio in ODNB, which I've not yet seen. Hopefully that gives
a correct death date. Leo only has the first wife of the 1st
Viscount, Lady Cecily Tufton (1648-1672). Leo has their daughter Hon.
Anne Hatton "born about 1666". She was born 9 October 1668 at Thanet
House, Aldersgate Street, London. Per his HOP bio, the 1st Viscount
Hatton had two more daughters with his first wife Lady Cecily Tufton,
but I've not yet been able to find out their names.

The second wife of the 1st Viscount Hatton was Hon. Frances
Yelverton. She was born 1655, and died 15 May 1684, the daughter of
Sir Henry Yelverton, 2nd Baronet of Easton Maudit. The marriage
settlement for Frances with Christopher Hatton was dated 27 December
1675. Frances was the first wife of Christopher to be styled
Viscountess Hatton, with her husband's creation as a Viscount
occurring a year before her death. Per his HOP bio, Christopher and
Frances had one son and one daughter. Curiously, the Peerage website
(peerage.com), makes Anne Hatton above the daughter of Frances
Yelverton:
http://www.thepeerage.com/p23463.htm#i234621

The third and final wife of the 1st Viscount Hatton was Elizabeth
Haslewood. She was born 28 August 1665 at Maidwell Hall,
Northamptonshire, and baptized 4 September 1665 at St mary Church,
Maidwell, the daughter of Sir William Haslewood of Maidwell Hall, by
his 1st wife Elizabeth Ayshford. Elizabeth Haslewood had 3 sons
(including the 2nd & the 3rd Viscounts Hatton) and 3 daughters with
the 1st Viscount Hatton. She survived him, and died 15 January 1733.

The most recent monarch the 1st Viscount Hatton descends from is
Edward I. All three of his wives, however, descend from Edward III.
Leo already has in Genealogics all of the Edward III lines for the
first wife, Lady Cecily Tufton.

Below are the 6 separate lines of descent from Edward III for the
second wife, Hon. Frances Yelverton, with links to the most recent
individuals in Leo's database for each. He already has all of these

*Leo is missing the Edward I descent for Sir Christopher Yelverton,
1st Baronet. I'll lay it out in a separate post.

I'll lay out the Edward III descents for Elizabeth Haslewood, third
wife of the 1st Viscount Hatton in the next post.

The Viscountcy of Hatton of Gretton became extinct in 1762, on the
death of Elizabeth Haslewood's son the 3rd Viscount. I haven't been
able yet to track down the 3 daughters of Elizabeth and the 1st
Viscount Hatton, so I don't know if Elizabeth has any descendants
living today.

Could some kind soul please cast an eye at my attempt to translate the Feudal Aids references to Ellerton and see if I have got anything horribly wrong:

Brad,

I wish I could help with the names of the other two daughters of Christopher Hatton, 1st V/Hatton and Lady Cecily Tufton but apparently only one of the three left descendants.

According to _A Genealogical History of the Dormant, Abeyant, Forfeited, and Extinct Peerages of the British Empire_ 1883, Anne, wife of Daniel Finch, 2nd E/Nottingham, 7th E/Winchilsea, was their "one surviving daughter".

Cordially,
Marc

Thanks for checking, Marc. Per the ODNB bio of the 1st Viscount
Hatton, his elder surviving son the 2nd Viscount died unmarried in
1760, followed two years later by his only brother the 3rd Viscount,
also unmarried. The Haslewood inheritance of their mother then passed
to their sister Elizabeth, then on her death, she bequeathed it to her
nephew, a son of her half-sister Anne, countess of Nottingham. It
seems then that the issue of Elizabeth Haslewood, Viscountess Hatton
became extinct.

Thank you very much, Hal - I didn't have this line. The ODNB bio of
Sir Christopher Yelverton of Easton Maudit (c.1537-1612), Speaker of
the House of Commons in 1597, the husband of your Mary[sic] Catesby b.
1546 above, doesn't name the mother of his wife. It does, however,
say that she was Margaret, not Mary, Catesby, and that she was born
about 1544, and died in 1611, a year before Sir Christopher. Both are
buried in St Peter & St Paul Church, Easton Maudit, Northamptonshire.

For some reason, Isabel Tresham (c.1527-1580), wife of Thomas Catesby
of Whiston (d. 1571), was left off of the Tresham pedigree in the
1564/1618-19 Visitaion of Northamptonshire:
http://archive.org/stream/visitationsofnor00harvrich#page/202/mode/2up

However, she does appear in a Tresham Pedigree in Northamptonshire
Notes & Queries Volume 2, where she is given a date of death of 1580:
http://archive.org/stream/northamptonshir00markgoog#page/n89/mode/2up

"Isabell, da. of Sir Thomas Tresham, Kt." is given as wife of Thomas
Catesby of Whiston in the Catesby of Whiston pedigree from the
1564/1618-19 Visitation of Northamptonshire:
http://www.archive.org/stream/visitationsofnor00harvrich#page/174/mode/2up

And the HOP bio of Thomas Catesby, son & heir of Isabel Tresham &
Thomas Catesby of Whiston, confirms her identity as daughter of Sir
Thomas Tresham and mother-in-law of Sir Christopher Yelverton. It also
gives us a date of death of 1571 for Isabel's husband Thomas Catesby:
http://www.historyofparliamentonline.org/volume/1558-1603/member/catesby-thomas-1592

You have Isabel Tresham Catesby's mother as Mary Parr. This is a
mistake originating in the article 'Early Pedigrees of the Parr
Family' by Henry A. Parr in 'The Topographer and Genealogist' Volume
III (1858). Parr confuses two of the daughters of William, Baron Parr
of Horton, saying that Mary married Sir Thomas Tresham of Rushton, and
Anne married John Digby of Ab Kettleby, when the reverse was true: it
was Anne Parr who married Sir Thomas Tresham, and Mary Parr who
married John Digby.

Thanks again for pointing this line out to me.

Cheers, ----Brad

Many thanks to John Higgins for sharing with me information from
Joseph Foster's pedigree of Gascoigne from the West Riding volume of
his 'County Families of Yorkshire'. There, Foster shows that Alice
Gascoigne, wife of Edward Haslewood (Generation A9) above, was the
daughter of Sir William Gascoigne of Gawthorpe Hall by his second wife
Margaret Wright, not by his first wife Margaret Fitzwilliam
(Generation # C6 above). As Alice Gascoigne Haslewood had children
with her second husband after Edward Haslewood's 1589 death, it is
chronologically impossible for her to have been the daughter of
Margaret Fitzwilliam, who was born by 1498, the year her father Sir
Thomas Fitzwilliam died.

So the entire C line of descent from Richard Neville, Earl of
Salisbury to Margaret Fitzwilliam, is not a part of the ancestry of
Elizabeth Haslewood, third wife of the 1st Viscount Hatton, and her
total separate lines of descent from Edward III is 8, not 9.

Thanks & Cheers, ----Brad
