Marriage contract is dated 10 July 1581 for Jean Riddell, daughter of Walter Riddell of that ilk and his wife Agnes daughter of Sir George Ramsay of Dalhousie (she was descended through the earls of Angus from King Robert III).
I found the above description and Riddell even though still extant today does not show this Walter Riddell.
Burke's Landed Gentry of Great Britain, The Kingdom of Scotland, is close but not close enough. Again Riddell starts too late, but Ramsay gives a tantalising snippet.
George Ramsay of Dalhousie, died 2 December 1580, was married to Elizabeth Hepburn and they had with six daughters the following sons.............is Agnes one of them? Can anyone tell?
With many thanks,

James
James was followed by John, whose son George was his heir apparent in
1533 (GD150/1401), but dead by 1545 (RMS III 3190), when John passed
over £10 of land to his grandson Walter, most probably at the time of
his marriage to Mariota Hoppringle, said in the Douglas Baronage to be
the daughter of Sir James Hoppringle of Gala. George had a brother,
John, who succeeded him as Parish Clerk of Lilliesleif in 1522
(GD1/35/1/15). Walter is the first for whom we have anything more
than the odd voucher; he had brothers William (RMS VI 422, VII 1331)
and Robert (Test 4 May 1581).
His son was Andrew who married firstly Agnes daughter of Sir George
Ramsay of Dalhousie, MC 1 Feb 1667 (GD45/16/2782), and secondly Violet
Douglas, said by Douglas’ Baronage to be a daughter of William Douglas
of Pumpherston. There are quite a number of charters under the Great
Seal relating to this generation. Andrew had by Agnes Ramsay an heir
John, later first baronet, also James 2nd son (RMS VI 1361) and Walter
(GD30/335). By Violet Douglas he had an eldest son of that marriage,
Andrew (RMS VII 108).
John married Agnes daughter of Sir John Murray of Ettlestoun (ie
Blackbarony) MC 13 May 1600 (GD32/2/6 and RMS VI 1361 for transfer of
the lands). He was created a baronet 14 May 1628 and evidently died
soon after as on 12 July 1632 Sir Walter, Kt, Bt was appointed a
curator of James Henderson, son of the deceased Sir John Henderson of
Fordell (GD 172/286).
So that would say that Andrew Riddell marrying Agnes Ramsay is a problem.

Nisbet’s Appendix treats of the family and quotes both the original
charter of David I (Lawrie ESC no CCXXII) and a number of
mortifications of lands to the Abbey of Melrose, which provide full,
but slightly difficult to disentangle, details of family
relationships. After these there is a gap until Quintin Riddel who
seems to have flourished from 4th July 1421 when an inquest found him
vested in the estate. His son evidently predeceased him and on 4 May
1471 James was found to be heir to Quintin, his grandfather.

The Riddle family consisted of old Mr and Mrs Riddle and their son,
Tom Riddle (Senior). They owned over half of the valley in which the
town of Little Hangleton lay, and Thomas was the most prominent
inhabitant of that town. They lived in a large house with fine
gardens, and were very unpopular locally, due to their snobbish
attitudes. Tom, apparently the only child of Thomas and Mary,
certainly indulged in the typical pursuits of the upper class in the
first half of the twentieth century, socialising with attractive women
of his class, riding horses, and enjoying his status in the town.
Young Merope Gaunt made efforts to get as close to Tom as she could,
peering at him through the windows and bushes at every opportunity.
Morfin noticed his sister's affection for Tom Riddle, and hexed Tom as
he rode by, covering him in hives. This breach of wizarding law, and
the ensuing violent struggle with Ministry of Magic officials, led to
Marvolo and Morfin being imprisoned in Azkaban. As surmised by
Dumbledore, once Merope was alone and no longer dominated by her
father, she was able to make her move for Tom Riddle. She offered Tom
a drink laced with a love potion as he rode by one day without his
attractive companion, Cecilia. He became infatuated with Merope and
they eloped. Within three months of the marriage, Merope became
pregnant. Merope decided to stop giving Tom the love potion; she
believed either that he had fallen in love with her on his own or he
would at least stay for their unborn child. She was wrong, and Tom
quickly left his pregnant wife and went home to his parents, claiming
to have been "hoodwinked" and tricked into marrying Merope. Tom
Marvolo Riddle, their son, was born on the 31st of December and was
left to grow up in an orphanage, as Merope had died soon after giving
birth.
Tom Marvolo Riddle is, of course, you know who [he who can't be named.]
Look at the charter quoted above by James Dempster.* I think the
incorrect information posted by Leo is derived indirectly from
Douglas' Baronage, which is rather muddled!
