Matt, Adrian, and Douglas,
Thank you very much for your answers about the varied identifications of
Eleanor/Alice. Since she appears in more records as Eleanor, that is
probably her name. Matt's suggestion about the abbreviation 'Al' could also
explain why her name is listed as Alice on the Visitation of Hampshire.
