Gary Boyd Roberts, in various editions of his RD immigrant books, eventually had to downgrade actor Peter Lawford's descent from Edward III to Edward I.
If the chart below is correct, I think there is probably a "better" Scottish line, perhaps even from King James IV, by a mistress:
