Dirk V, Count of Holland 1061-1091, born circa 1053, died 17 June 1091,
son of Floris I and Geertruid of Saxony; married, before 26 July 1083,
Othelhildis and they are the parents of Floris II.

In 1061, and still a minor, he became Count of Holland and Bishop
Willem of Utrecht, profiting from this minority by annexing the
county of Holland to his already extensive bishopric of Utrecht.
It would take until 1076 before Dirk V, assisted by his step-father,
Robrecht the Friesian, Count of Flanders, recovered his territory
and imprisoned the Bishop of Utrecht in the process.
